Background Information

David W. Huff is proud to release his second project as a solo artist. "Proclaim" is the fantastic follow-up to his first solo project, "Really".

This greatly anticipated follow up project to "Really" includes a variety of Inspo, AC, Rock and Praise songs. Fans who heard some of the new material in David's concerts counted the days to the release date.

Proclaim features the type songs that David's fans have come to expect from him as a solo artist and through his many years as the leader of the legendary Christian band "David & the Giants." As their lead singer and front man, the band built a fan base that to this day still are as loyal to David as a solo artist as they were to the band. During his time with "David & the Giants," they released 17 projects, 4 videos, and received Dove Award nominations.

The new album, "Proclaim" features a song called "Blue Eyes Like Janey's." It is a straight forward look at the issue of abortion in this country.

David's passionate relationship with Christ is shown in the songs on Proclaim. When Mercy Found Me is a song from Proclaim that is particularly meaningful to David Huff. When asked about it, he replied, “This song was inspired during a recent trip to Africa. As much as we need the mercy of God in America, it seems like they might need a little more mercy, since there are so many people over there who have never heard the Gospel of Christ.”

The project features a guest appearance on drums by legend Vinnie Colaiuta on songs such as When Mercy Found Me, Holy Rain, and With A Prayer. Huff’s son, Lance played drums on the remaining tracks on the album, while his daughter, Kellye, wife Twyla, and daughter-in-law, Christal, were also involved in the background vocals and songwriting of Proclaim. David Huff’s heart and prolific songwriting are shared in the songs on the project.

Proclaim is simply another way for David Huff to share the Gospel with a world in need. As David says, “I don’t want to just leave behind a song, but I want to leave behind a legacy of someone that walked and talked with God.”

Order your CD today and join David as he Proclaims his love for God!!

Lyrics

I've Come to Worship

(Verse)
The earth is moving
But I'm standing still
I see the things of this world pass me by
But it won't break my will
Your strength's like a vessel
That runs through my veins
Keeping your spirit within me alive
So that I will proclaim
(Chorus)
I've come to worship, worship
I've come to worship
Angels above are - rejoicing with us
Oh I've come to worship You
(Verse)
This road is narrow
That I'm walking on
But I won't stop 'til I reach that mark
That I will press toward
Your love's beyond measure
No words can explain
No matter the things that I face in this life
My heart stays the same
(Bridge)
You are my Lord
You are my God
I trust in You
I want be moved

More Like Jesus

(Verse)
I want to be just like Jesus
I want to be just like Him
To touch the broken hearted
To share the light within
(Chorus)
I need more love
I need more faith
I need more power
If I'm ever gonna be like Him - I need more love
If I'm ever gonna be like Jesus
(Verse)
See me Lord I am waiting
Lord bring me to my knees
Fill me with Your compassion
Anointing fall on me

Near You

(Verse)
Lord you are God and God alone
You're beautiful, You're wonderful
Endless praises goes on and on
You know the way to keep me close
You draw me to Your secret place
Encamped around a heavenly host
(Chorus)
I wanna stay near You
Cause I know wherever You are
There I'll find my bright and morning star
I wanna stay near You
In your presence there is joy untold
My emptiness is completely whole
I wanna stay near You
(Verse)
Lord I need You more than life
You're every breath I start to breathe
Without You Lord I can't survive
I know wherever You are there I'll find
My heart my soul my friend of friends
Together there is no end of time
(Bridge)
You're like a fire on a winter morning
You're like the rain on a summer day
It's really no wonder
Why my feelings feel this way

Holy Rain

(Verse)
Hello Brothers, Hello Sisters
So good to see you tonight
Lifting up hands and praising our Lord
All together one accord
(Chorus)
Oh it's not a dream
We're all on the right train yeah
Just like the prophet Joel said it would be
Holy Rain keep falling
And Falling
And Falling on down
(Verse)
Some say I'm right
Some say I'm wrong
Others tell me I'm crazy
But if you could feel the Spirit of God
That comes withing your heart and soul
(Chorus)
Oh it's not a dream
We're all on the right train yeah
Just like the prophet Joel said it would be
Holy Rain keep falling
And Falling
And Falling on down

You know the hidden parts of me
Know way I can express
That day at Calvery

Came down from above

In reminisce on yesterday

My Song Of Praise

(Chorus)

You are the rock that moves me
You are the rain that fills my soul
Whenever life seems heavy

Your Glory fills the earth
With Your power and majesty
Nothing compares to Your worth

Glory Hallelujah

(Verse)
I get up in the morning
Singing Glory, Glory
Then I got to thank Him
For seeing one more day
Looking out my window
The sun is shining brightly
The trees are standing tall
It's so good to be so free
Now isn't it beautiful
To sing out loud
The words that you wanna sing
Don't it make you feel so proud
(Chorus)
Singing Glory Hallelujah
Shout it to the people
Let it get next to you
Singing Glory Hallelujah
Sing it loud and clear now
Glory Hallelujah
(Verse)
I stopped into a Church now
To get salvation
There where people crying
They knew what they had done
The preacher keepth on praying
Oh sinners don't you weep
Just say a simple prayer
For your soul to keep
So brush away your tears now
Oh Jesus forgives
Lets all get together
It's time for us to live
(Repeat Chorus)

Shout It Out

(Verse)
I got a real good feeling
Something's gonna happen tonight
This place is saturated
I'm wading in the waters of life
My hands are lifted up to the sky
I feel His praises coming alive
(Chorus)
Sometimes I dance and
Sometimes I shout when
I'm in the Spirit
It takes me to a higher place
I've got to shout it out
Sometimes I run and
Sometimes I leap when
The Spirit of David comes on
And it's moving me
Somebody shout it out
(Verse)
Now I will enter His gates with
The praises down in my heart
I feel the move of the Spirit
That takes me so far beyond
The sounds of heaven is filling the air
There's nothing in this world to compare
(Bridge)
I will praise the Lord
With all that's in me I will give
I declare He's great and marvelous
From now on His praise shall live

With A Prayer

(Verse)
You carried me
When the world turned the other way
No questions asked
But I saw mercy face to face
I was a child that wandered far from home
But rescued by your grace
As a Father You came running to save me
(Chorus)
In my weakest moment
Your love became the strongest
Though I could not see
Your love was all around me
In my desperation
Your love became salvation
Now it's plain to see
Lord it's true, Your love came through
With a prayer
(Verse)
Love covers me
I feel safe beneath Your wings
No other place could I find the joy you bring
Every now and then my mind goes back
And I look on yesterday
Lord I have to lift my hands in praise to You

Blue Eyes Like Janey's

(Verse)
We were so young
And only playing around
And I was ready for adventure
Not for settling down
So when Janey told me she was pregnant
And that she wanted to be my wife
I said wait a minute Janey
We're only seventeen
We're just starting out our young lives
Let's keep our heads together girl
Let's look at all of our options
But we both knew what the choices where
There was abortion or adoption
And the doctor we saw, he said it wasn't really life
Just a formless mass of cells
So Janey and I, we made our choice
And we promised that we'd never tell
But leaving the clinic, we heard some talk
And it shattered our little world
The doctor was telling the nurses
That the baby was a girl
(Chorus)
Would she have brown hair
Did she have blue eyes
I've tried to imagine what she would look like so many times
Would she be a tall girl
The questions on my mind
Did she have blue eyes like Janey's
And brown hair like mine
(Verse)
I say Janey just the other day
In a prolife movement line
We were in front of the court house steps
Praying and carrying signs
And Janey came up to talk to me
And there were tears in her blue eyes
She said there has been millions of innocent babies
Like ours have already died
And I can't stand on the sidelines anymore
And watch that number grow
Not after what you and I've gone through
Not knowing what we know
I still wake up late some nights
And think I hear her call my name
And I still have her photograph
In an empty picture frame
(Repeat Chorus)
